What Was the Message of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.?

Galatians 3:26-4:7


1. We are all God's Children by faith

Galatians 3:26-29


 

2. As God's children, we have been baptized into Christ

Galatians 3:27a


 

3. As God's children, we have "put on Christ"

Galatians 3:27b


 

4. When we put on Christ we are "one in Christ Jesus"

Galatians 3:28


 

5a . . . we are Abraham's seed and "heirs of the promise"

Galatians 3:29


 

5b. This is demonstrated in Galatians 4:1-7


 

6. Our nation's founders used these principles as the basis of

The Declaration of Independence


 

6a. "We hold these truths to be self evident . . . " 

(revealed by the Holy Spirit)


 

6b. ". . . that all men are created . . . "

(creation is a miracle of God)


 

6c. ". . . equal . . . 

(We are all equal in God's eyes)


 

6d. ". . . they are endowed by their creator with certain 

unalienable rights . . . "

(Rights come from God)


 

6e. ". . . among these are Life, Liberty, and the 

pursuit of Happiness."


 

7. We have Life in Christ!

We have Liberty in Christ!

We have Happiness in Christ!


 

8. The founders understood, but left the task to those

who follow to make it happen for all . . .
